Senior Buyer
Hours - 40 hours per week
Duration - 6–18 Month contract duration
Location - Liverpool (based on site 5 days per week) The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Buyer to support a major engineering and construction project in Liverpool. This is a key commercial role responsible for delivering the end-to-end procurement lifecycle within a complex EPCM environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, and contract compliance, contributing to the successful delivery of a high-value project. Key Responsibilities
Deliver the full procurement lifecycle from market engagement through to contract close-out
Source and procure materials, plant, and subcontract services
Manage RFQs/ITTs, tender evaluations, and supplier selection
Lead commercial negotiations to achieve best value outcomes
Administer contracts, including variations and change control
Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and programme
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Cost Engineers
Support budgeting and cost forecasting
Ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, and governance requirements
Maintain accurate procurement and contract documentationRequirements
Proven experience as a Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist within:
Engineering
Construction
Process or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of procurement and contract management practices
Experience working within EPCM / FEED project environments
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Strong stakeholder management capability
Ability to manage multiple work packages and suppliersQualifications
Degree qualified or working towards a professional qualification
CIPS Level 4 minimum (Level 5 desirable)Desirable
