Band 7 Occupational Therapist – Specialist SEN School

Location: Liverpool 

Salary: £47,810 – £54,710 per year (dependent on experience & qualifications)

Contract: Permanent – Full Time 

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join a specialist SEN school team in Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with  ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , helping them achieve independence and thrive in their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct holistic assessments of pupils’ sensory, motor, and functional needs.

• Plan and deliver evidence-based OT interventions (1:1, small-group, and classroom-embedded).

• Contribute to EHCP reviews and support the achievement of pupils’ individual outcomes.

• Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to embed OT strategies across the curriculum.

• Provide training, coaching, and guidance for staff and families on sensory regulation, functional skills, and independence.

• Lead on developing whole-school approaches to sensory-friendly environments and inclusive practice.

Requirements

• Dip COT, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy with HCPC and BAOT registration.

• Previous experience in a special school setting or CAMHS service.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, staff, and parents.

• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and student support.
