Key Responsibilities
The KS2 Teacher will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering lessons across all KS2 subjects
Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining pupils
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Tracking pupil progress, analysing assessment data, and delivering targeted interventions
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and effective learning habits
Maintaining effective communication with parents and carers
Supporting school initiatives, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities
Collaborating with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leadership to maintain high standards of education
Contributing to the school’s continuous improvement and development plans
Upholding professional standards in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures
Person Specification
The ideal KS2 Teacher will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have proven experience teaching Years 3–6
Possess strong classroom management skills and a proactive, positive attitude
Have experience differentiating for SEND and EAL learners
Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to delivering engaging lessons
Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Bring creativity and energy to lessons and school initiatives
Desirable attributes include:
Leading a subject or school initiative
Familiarity with digital learning platforms and technology integration
Experience running extracurricular clubs or school projects
Knowledge of assessment frameworks, data analysis, and intervention strategies
