Experienced Chefs - The Open Golf Tournament July 2026

OVERVIEW

We are recruiting for experienced chefs to work at 154th ‘Open Golf Tournament’ at Royal Birkdale.

You must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a chef & be familiar in a large scale banqueting setting.

Must Drive as transport at your shift time is not guaranteed.

Only apply for this role if you have experience in events/arenas/stadiums/fine dining.

We need people who are willing to work hard long hours & have a can do attitude.

You will be working VERY long days, often starting at 4am and can be working as late as 10pm.

The event is 8 days long at The Royal Birkdale Golf Course

You will work as part of a brigade of chefs to achieve a successful service for your lead chef. Working on A section and helping out wherever needed.

Pay - £20.34 per hour total pay

Breakdown - £18.15+ Holiday pay = £18ph

The above pay is for THE OPEN only.

Our other clients & events that you will have access to all have their own rates that you will see before you apply for any individual shift.

Requirements for the role

· Valid certificates, Food Safety Level 2, Food Allergens, Health + Safety Level 2

· You will have an NVQ Level 1,2,3 Professional Cookery (or equivalent) OR relevant experience.

· Team Player

· An eagerness to work hard & enthusiasm for your role

· Eligible to work in the UK

· Your own chef whites – Knives – knife case

Responsibilities and Duties

· Cook to specification and opportunity for menu creation.

· Maintaining kitchen cleanliness to the highest standard

· Product delivery, standards and innovation

· Liaising with Front of House Staff and Management.

· Stock Control, Waste Management and Finance

· Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Maintenance

· Be aware of and adhere to Health and Safety at Work, COSHH and other legislation at all times.
