School Finance Officer - Liverpool

The Role
As a School Finance Officer, you will play an essential part in maintaining the school’s financial stability and ensuring that all financial operations are managed efficiently and in line with trust and statutory expectations. Working closely with the School Business Manager and wider operations team, you will support key financial processes that keep the school running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing purchase orders, invoices, card transactions, and supplier payments
Managing reconciliations, banking, and daily income recording
Assisting staff and budget holders with financial queries and expenditure tracking
Maintaining accurate, audit-ready financial files and digital records
Preparing data for management accounts, forecasting, and financial reporting
Overseeing financial arrangements for school trips, extracurricular activities, and parental payments
Liaising with suppliers, auditors, and trust finance teams
Supporting payroll checks, expense claims, and HR-related financial workflows
Ensuring full compliance with DfE and trust finance regulations
