Youth Worker
Youth Worker - Full-Time (Alternative Provision, Liverpool)
Are you passionate about supporting young people who need a fresh start in education? Do you have the confidence and compassion to build meaningful relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning?
We are looking for a full-time Youth Worker to join a dedicated team at an alternative provision school in Liverpool . The setting supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have struggled in mainstream education. Your role will be crucial in helping them re-engage with learning, build self-esteem, and develop the skills needed to progress confidently in life and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities , and positive interactions
- Act as a trusted adult and role model , helping students feel safe, respected, and supported
- Encourage participation in learning through inclusive, flexible, and personalised approaches
- Provide consistent support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs , using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a structured and nurturing environment
About You:
- Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching , or a similar support-focused role
- Experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), SEN , or behavioural needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young people
- Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable , with a genuine desire to help students succeed
- Confident in handling challenging behaviour and offering emotional and pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
