About the Role
Bluestones Medical Agency is currently seeking experienced Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to support theatre services at Liverpool Women's Hospital on an adhoc / part-time agency basis . This is an excellent opportunity for skilled theatre practitioners that specialize in anaesthetic's, Recovery and Gynecology who is looking for flexible working while contributing to high-quality patient care within a specialist hospital environment.

As an ODP, you will play a key role in supporting the surgical team throughout the perioperative journey, ensuring patient safety, maintaining theatre efficiency, and delivering high standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide professional support to surgical teams during anaesthetic, scrub, and recovery stages of surgical procedures.

* Prepare operating theatres, ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are ready for procedures.

* Assist the anaesthetist during the administration of anaesthesia and patient monitoring.

* Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict infection control standards.

* Support patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures.

* Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff.

* Monitor patients' conditions and respond appropriately to any changes.

* Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow hospital policies and clinical governance procedures.

Requirements

* Qualified Operating Department Practitioner with valid HCPC registration .

* Previous experience working in a theatre environment within the NHS or similar healthcare settings.

* Strong knowledge of theatre procedures, equipment, and patient monitoring.

* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* Flexibility to work adhoc or part-time agency shifts .
