Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1)
Full Time Year 1 Speke (L24) From September 2026£14.30 per hour + (depending on experience) Teaching Personnel are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2 with Autism (ASC). This rewarding position begins immediately after the Easter half term and offers the chance to provide vital support within a warm, supportive primary school environment. Ideal Candidate We would love to hear from you if you:- Have experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs.
- Are patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient.
- Can adapt your approach to meet individual learning and sensory needs.
- Are reliable, consistent, and confident in supporting behaviour positively.
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service. The Role As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personalised support to a Year 2 pupil with autism, helping them access learning and manage emotional regulation.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised strategies and interventions.
- Supporting the development of communication, social interaction, and independence skills.
- Assisting with academic tasks and daily routines to ensure the pupil feels safe, confident, and ready to learn.
- Helping to create a positive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Location & Transport The school benefits from:
