EYFS Teaching Assistant – Nursery (Full‑Time)
Hours:Monday to Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm
Location:Various school placements
Start:Immediate / Ongoing
Contract: Temporary with potential for long‑term opportunities
Rate of pay: £13.80 + holiday pay
About the Role
We are seeking an EYFS‑trained Teaching Assistant to support a Nursery class within a warm, welcoming primary school setting. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a nurturing approach to early learning, helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to explore.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children with early learning, play‑based activities, and daily routines
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of EYFS curriculum activities
- Providing 1:1 or small‑group support where needed
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social development
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Supporting with personal care routines when required
- Communicating effectively with staff and contributing to the wider EYFS team
What We’re Looking For
- EYFS training or relevant early years qualification
- Nursery experience (school or private setting)
- SEN experience is highly desirable
- A warm, patient, and child‑centred approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for early years education
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All applicants must hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered on the DBS update service. Candidates will be asked to provide a minimum of five years references and successfully pass all safeguarding checks
