Family Solicitor
JOB TITLE: Family Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 5+
LOCATION: Liverpool
SALARY: Up to £75,000 (DOE)
THE ROLE:
You will take ownership of a varied caseload of private family law matters, working with a good level of autonomy while still benefiting from senior support where needed. Your work will include advising clients on divorce, financial arrangements and children related matters, as well as handling more complex issues such as cohabitation disputes and nuptial agreements. The role will involve drafting detailed legal documents and correspondence, advising on strategy and settlement options and representing clients through negotiations and court proceedings. You will regularly prepare for and attend hearings, including financial dispute resolution hearings and final hearings and will liaise with counsel, experts and other professionals as required. There is also an opportunity to play a part in the wider team, including supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the ongoing success and reputation of the department. A strong focus is placed on client care, with an emphasis on providing clear, pragmatic advice in sensitive situations.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with around 5 years’ PQE in family law, with a proven ability to manage a private family caseload independently. You will have solid technical knowledge across key areas of family law, particularly financial remedy and private children work and be confident handling matters from initial instruction through to resolution. Strong drafting and advocacy skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust with clients. The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, well organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively. A calm and empathetic approach is key, alongside the confidence to guide clients through often challenging circumstances. You will also be someone who enjoys working as part of a team, contributing positively to a collaborative culture and supporting the development of others where appropriate.
