About the role.

We’re looking for a Head of Digital Trading and Merchandising who’s excited to shape the future of how customers discover and shop with us. Reporting to the Digital Director, you’ll take the lead on all digital trading and merchandising across our websites and app. You’ll own revenue delivery, champion onsite performance, and bring a strategic yet hands-on mindset to a fast-paced, high visibility area of the business. 

You’ll spot opportunities others might miss, use insight to drive action, and inspire confident, connected decision-making. This role is all about making every customer journey feel simple, relevant and full of possibility. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Deliver revenue targets and budget expectations

• Lead all onsite trading and merchandising activity to maximise commercial performance

• Continuously improve conversion rate in line with agreed targets

• Build and refine processes that support smart, data led merchandising and trading decisions

• Recruit, coach and develop a high performing team

• Translate data into clear stories and share meaningful insight with stakeholders

• Oversee workflow across the team including request tracking, prioritisation and approvals

• Anticipate future needs in people, tech and ways of working, and design practical solutions

• Drive continuous optimisation through experimentation, testing and data led improvements

About you.

Technical expertise 

• Proven experience in digital trading and merchandising within a digital retail environment 

• Deep knowledge of merchandising principles, tools and best practices 

• Strong proficiency with analytics and optimisation platforms such as GA4, Power BI, Content Square, Similarweb, Celebrus or Appsflyer 

• Confidence turning data into actionable insights and compelling storytelling 

Leadership and behaviours

• Experienced people leader with a passion for coaching and developing highperforming teams 

• Brilliant communicator who can influence at every level 

• Strong stakeholder management skills across varied teams and seniority levels 

• Commercially minded, action oriented and energised by a fastmoving digital retail environment 

• Comfortable driving change at pace and embedding new ways of working 

Qualifications 

• Relevant experience in ecommerce, digital trading, merchandising or digital product environments 

• Additional training in analytics, CRO or merchandising tools is a bonus

You can expect a two-stage interview process for this position:

1st stage - A 45-60 minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the role and to ask any questions you may have.

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal task based interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions.

3rd Stage - A 30 minute interview with our Chief Customer Officer.
