Senior Care Assistant (Nights)
Job Description
Are you an experienced and compassionate carer looking to make a real difference during the most important stage of someone’s life?
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Carer with experience in end-of-life care to join our committed team. This is a rewarding role where you’ll support residents with life-limiting conditions, ensuring they receive comfort, dignity, and quality care in their final days.
Your Role Will Include:
Providing high-quality, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care
Supporting residents with personal care and emotional reassurance
Supervising and mentoring care staff to maintain best practice
Liaising with families, GPs, nurses, and palliative care professionals
Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and promptly responding to changes
Upholding dignity, respect, and sensitivity at all times
What We’re Looking For:
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Prior experience in a senior carer or end-of-life/palliative care role
Compassionate, calm, and emotionally resilient nature
Excellent communication and leadership skills
A genuine commitment to person-centred care
Desirable (but not essential):
End-of-life care training (e.g., Gold Standards Framework, Six Steps)
Experience supporting families through bereavement
Knowledge of Advance Care Planning and DNACPR processes
