Key Responsibilities for Band 6 Nurse job in Liverpool

  • Deliver expert nursing care tailored to the needs of individual patients, ensuring all care is evidence-based and in line with best practices.
  • Manage and oversee a clinical caseload, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of junior nurses, healthcare assistants, and student nurses, acting as a mentor and role model.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of care plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Take a proactive role in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance activities.
  • Administer medication and specialized treatments as per clinical protocols.

Requirements of a Band 6 Nurse job

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
  • At least 2 years of post-registration experience, preferably in a Band 5 or equivalent position.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient care.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience supervising and supporting junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Qualifications and Experience Band 6 Nurse job in Liverpool

  • Previous experience in a Band 6 role or similar leadership position.
  • Experience in specialized areas such as critical care, surgical wards, or community nursing.
  • Knowledge of NHS frameworks and clinical governance requirements.
