GVC are assisting a well-established charity veterinary hospital in Liverpool with the recruitment of a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, purpose-led team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN who wants to deliver high-quality clinical care while supporting clients who may be experiencing financial hardship. The role offers excellent clinical variety, strong teamwork, and the chance to make a genuine impact on animal welfare every single day.
The Role
You’ll play a key role across the hospital, working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver efficient, compassionate veterinary services in line with charity guidelines and professional standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Inpatient care, theatre support, radiography and dispensary duties
Nurse consultations and client education
Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate
Supporting preventative care and treatment plans
Delivering empathetic client care and involving owners in decision-making
Supporting clinical governance, compliance and risk assurance processes
Maintaining accurate patient and client records
Supporting colleagues through shared learning and clinical coaching
Participation in the hospital rota, including inpatient and theatre duties
Occasional emergency out-of-hours cover where applicable
You’ll balance high clinical standards with a pragmatic approach, ensuring charity resources are used effectively to maximise public benefit.
About You
Essential:
RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
Experience delivering high-quality patient and client care
Pragmatic and compassionate clinical approach
Confident working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Computer literate
Desirable:
At least 12 months’ UK small animal practice experience
You’ll be confident communicating with a wide range of clients and colleagues, enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, and be motivated by making a real difference.
Work Pattern & Rota
37.5 hours per week
Open to full-time or part-time working patterns
Rota designed with work–life balance in mind

Separate dog and cat wards
In-house radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy

Salary & Benefits
Salary: £26,655 – £31,027 per annum
CPD: 3 days plus £500 annual allowance
Full payment of RCVS fees
25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays (option to buy/sell up to 5 days)
