About the Role

Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs and helping them thrive in a secondary school setting?

Spencer Clarke Group is working closely with several welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Liverpool who are seeking Unqualified/Qualified SEND Teaching Assistants to support students with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting young people - whether in education, youth work, care, coaching, or similar environments - who are looking to gain hands-on classroom experience within SEND and progress their career in education. Formal qualifications are not required, though relevant experience or training is welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ADHD and ASC.
• Support pupils with focus, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
• Work under the guidance of teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies and individual plans.
• Assist in creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction.
• Support students both in and out of the classroom where required.

What We're Looking For

• A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND.
• Patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs ( preferred but not essential ).
• A flexible and reliable attitude to meet the needs of different school environments.
