JR Veterinary is proud to be recruiting a Fixed Term Night Veterinary Surgeon on behalf of a busy, well-established 24-hour practice in Merseyside. Covering maternity leave, this is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced ECC vet who values genuine flexibility alongside meaningful, high-quality clinical work.

The Details:

Up to £85,000 Pro Rata | Fixed Term Maternity Cover | Part Time

🕙 7 nights on / 21 nights off

📅 7 nights per month

Who We Are Looking For:

This role would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine passion for emergency and critical care. You will be confident working overnight in a busy practice environment, with a client-focused approach and excellent communication skills.

You will need:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon status
• Solid ECC experience — essential
• A calm, confident and considered approach under pressure
• Excellent client and team communication skills
• Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures

What the Role Involves:

• Delivering exceptional clinical care throughout the night
• Developing accurate, tailored treatment plans for each patient
• Providing clear and compassionate updates to clients
• Mentoring and supporting your overnight team
• Completing clinical handover and arranging transfers where needed
• Sharing clinical best practice across the wider team
