Mechanical Design Engineer
V7 Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading engineering organisation Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing design team. You'll play a key role in developing innovative mechanical systems, components and products from concept through to manufacture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who lives and breathes SolidWorks and wants to create high-quality, manufacturable designs that solve real-world problems.
Key responsibilities
- Create and refine complex 3D parametric models, assemblies and detailed 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks
- Generate BOMs, assembly instructions, and manufacturing-ready documentation
- Collaborate closely with production, procurement, testing and other engineering teams to resolve design issues and implement improvements
- Participate in design reviews, DFMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support prototyping, testing and validation activities
What we're looking for
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, manufacturing processes
- Proficient in GD&T application and interpretation
- Excellent 3D spatial awareness and attention to detail
