Teaching Assistant – Woolton (Challenging All-Boys Secondary School)

Exclusive Education is currently seeking a resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis within a challenging all-boys Secondary School in the Woolton area of Liverpool. This role is to start ASAP and is ideal for someone who is confident managing behaviour and building strong relationships with students.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them engage positively with their education.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils within a secondary classroom setting
• Support students with challenging behaviour, using effective behaviour management strategies
• Assist the class teacher with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
• Help to engage and motivate students who may be disengaged from learning
• Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SEN staff
• Encourage independence and positive participation in lessons
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:
• Ideally hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. NCFE, CACHE or NVQ Level 2 or above) – desirable but not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Experience working with children within the last 2 years (school or alternative settings such as youth work, residential care, or sports coaching)
• Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour – highly desirable
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• Two professional references relating to work with children
• A current Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
