Deputy Manager – Residential Children’s Home (3 Bed | EBD) | Speke, Liverpool

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Hours: Full-time, rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our small, 3-bed children’s home in Speke, Liverpool. This is an opportunity to support a settled home with long-term placements, where stability, consistency, and meaningful outcomes for young people are our priorities.

In this pivotal role, you will support the Registered Manager in leading a committed team to provide exceptional care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), helping them thrive and reach their full potential.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

Support and supervise residential support staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and regular supervision.

*

Deputise for the Registered Manager when needed.

*

Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people to grow, develop, and thrive.

*

Deliver high-quality primary care, supporting young people with daily activities, education, appointments, and personal development programs.

*

Implement individualised care plans, including strategies for behaviour management, self-esteem building, and life skills development.

*

Assist in planning celebrations, holidays, and special events to enhance young people’s experiences.

*

Contribute to policies, procedures, and service development to drive continuous improvement.

*

Take part in the on-call rota and maintain compliance with statutory, health, and safety requirements.

*

Help maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, and quality in line with Ofsted regulations.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a strong, values-led leader who:

*

Holds an NVQ / Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent

*

Has experience in residential child care, ideally with leadership or management experience.

*

Demonstrates a strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, and positive behaviour management (PACE or similar therapeutic models desirable).

*

Possesses excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills.

*

Can build and maintain a motivated, stable staff team and be a positive role model for young people.

*
